First of all, I’d bday wishes just like to wish every single Muslim out there a happy Eid. I hope you guys had a fun and memorable Eid, because so did I. Since I’m a Muslim too, I’d like to share with you guys what I did on Eid…
My Eid didn’t really start out well. I stayed up until around 1.30AM making posters for the Eid Potluck event later on that day. I woke up at 5AM because I realised I hadn’t finished all of my Math homework. So I woke up at 5, spent 30 mins on my homework, and since I was really sleepy, I went back to sleep. I know I probably bday wishes shouldn’t have gone back to sleep, but have you guys ever had that moment when you’re just super sleepy that you can’t stay awake, even for 1 second? That’s what I felt. I had been sleeping at 2AM for nearly the whole week, and I’m more of an early bird than a night owl! So I went back to sleep and since I was planning to meet my friends at 7.30AM for Eid prayer, I set my alarm at 6.30AM. And… yup. You guessed bday wishes it. I didn’t wake up when my alarm went off. I just didn’t. I hate when that happens. Instead, I woke up at 7.30AM and ended up not going for Eid prayer. I was really disappointed because… bday wishes well, what is Eid without the prayer? It’s like eating waffles or pancakes without syrup. It just doesn’t feel complete.
You see, the thing I love the most about Eid is getting the chance to hang out with my family and have fun. So, when you live thousands of miles away from your family and it’s Eid… Well, it just doesn’t feel really good. But luckily, bday wishes I have friends here to celebrate Eid with! Muslim Student Association (MSA for short) bday wishes was holding an Eid Potluck event at 12AM, and I was really looking forward to it. We (as in MSA) didn’t have much time to plan the event. We had just established the group, and we only organised the Potluck a week before Eid, so it was a rush and we had loads of stuff to do. But, oh boy, I don’t regret a single bit of it.
