During the summer, I was in 10 parts go through the criminal novel (European irish blessing and American) history, roughly from the 1600s until today. I will also give suggestions on books, movies and anything else that representerarar the various epochs and may be interesting to read / see / play.
Part 1 - Structure of the police in large cities. Murder and crime have been portrayed in the literature ever since Greek times. It's hard to say exactly when the crime novel arose but a few things certainly contributed to the genre's origins.
