The famous Indian festive season is on! Since India is a multicultural country enriched with different community and their culture, in each month you will find at least one festival getting celebrated. But there is a time span of around 3 months when major communities celebrate their largest festivals. Generally, September to November is that time which is known as festive season in India. It’s already started with Eid al-Fitr and next is Krishna Janmashtami . Then Ganesh Puja, Durga Puja, Diwali and so on. I will try to keep you guys posted on each and every festival along with the food style.
As tomorrow i.e. 28 th august is Krishna Janmashtami (which is more popularly known as Janmashtami) , I’m anniversary quotes concentrating on it now. It’s the annual celebration anniversary quotes of the birth of Hindu God Lord Krishna. Many parts of India including Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and few southern parts of India celebrates this festival. As Janmashtami is celebrated in many regions in India, we have different types of food for this festival. But all the items are known to be the favorites of Lord Krishna. Most popular few items are Rava Halwa ( Semolina  P udding), Burfi, Badam Halwa, Shrikhand, Rice pudding, Malpua , Gokul Pithe , Kolar Bora (Banana Fritters), Taal Kheer (Asial Palm Pudding), Taaler Bora (Asian Palm Fritters) and many more delicious desserts.
Now back to our food section, today I’m sharing the recipe of Banana Fritters or Bengali Kolar Bora . Apart from Janmashtami this Banana Fritters or Bengali Kolar Bora is also known as a popular tea time snack or sometimes as light dessert. Banana Fritters are not only an Indian snack/dessert it has an international touch. Burmese, Indonesia, Philippines, Malay, Thai cuisines also share their own variations of this Banana Fritters . Sometimes savory banana fritters are also enjoyed with the sweet banana fritters.
All-purpose flour: 2 tbsp
Pour enough oil in wok/frying pan to fry the fritters and heat on medium flame. When the oil is hot, take an ice-cream scoop filled with the mixture and drop the mixture in the hot oil. You can also use a tablespoon instead of ice-cream scoop. Fry 6-8 fritters at a time. Don’t over crowd the wok.

Home Shahrukh Khan Priyanka Chopra Hrithik Roshan Bollywood Janmashtami 2013: Will Hrithik… Bollywood Janmashtami 2013: Will Hrithik Roshan, Shahrukh Khan and Arjun Rampal break the matki at Dahi Handi?
Just like last year, Hrithik Roshan will celebrate Lord Krishna s birthday this year too. Remember the honey-eyed actor breaking the dahi handi in his 2012 hit film Agneepath ? It is learnt that Krrish 3 star will attend the Dahi Handi celebrations in Ghatkopar and we won t be surprised födelsedagar if he tries to break the makti . After all, he is India s most loved superhero, no? Besides Hrithik, other B-town celebs are also gearing up to celebrate this festival. D-Day actor Arjun Rampal will grace Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam’s Dahi Handi function which will be dedicated to the safety of women. Going by his athletic body, wethinks he can certainly break the makti but the question is will he? We hope so! Actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Ravi Kishen are also expected to attend the grand event. Bappi Lahiri födelsedagar will be seen crooning at the event.
Also, a lot of Bollywood celebs will be seen at MLA Krishna Hegde s dahi handi celebrations in Vile Parle. Sanjay Dutt s sister Priya Dutt, Chennai Express director Rohit Shetty, Madhur Bahndarkar, Vipul Shah, Vindoo Dara Singh, Shreyas Talpade and Dolly Bindra will make their presence felt at this one.
While Shahrukh Khan will get the crowd roaring at Sachin Ahir s Dahi Handi party in Worli, Mumbai, many politicians and celebs including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sidharth Malhotra, Esha Deol along with sister Ahana Deol, singer Usha Uthup and Benny Dayal will be present at the venue. With King Khan riding high on the success of his film Chennai Express , he may just attempt to break the makti for his fans. Wethinks, that s the best way to thank his fans for all the love, right? Not to forget, stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma will entertain the crowd with his performance. While some Bollwyood bigwigs will celebrate this auspicious day with aam jaanta , others have been wishing their fans on Twitter…
Madhur födelsedagar Bhandarkar: Happy janmashtami.. may lord krishna showers all his blessing on you. May you get a lot of Happines in life. Jay shri krishna.
